Security Changes
Webmail now uses the most recent version of Apache with Secure Socket
Layer (SSL) support. This offers the best security currently available
for accessing e-mail over the Web.
Simplified Login Page
We have streamlined the Webmail login page to make it easier to access
your mail, most notably by removing the "Non-Oak E-Mail" button.
Simplified Attachment Handling
With the old version of Webmail, non-text attachments like Microsoft
Office documents and PDF files did not always display correctly when
viewed within a browser window. The new version of Webmail handles
attachments thus:
- Text attachments can be
either displayed within your browser or downloaded to your
computer.
- Non-text attachments must be
downloaded.
New Preferences Added
You now can control more of Webmail's basic behavior, including:
Ohio University Color Scheme
Webmail's windows and graphics now conform to the official Ohio
University colors and logo standards.
